Forty Years of Women at Stevens: First Female Students Pioneered the University’s Future

When Martha Connolly '75 was mulling her many college acceptances in the spring of 1971, the prospect of achieving landmark status at Stevens Institute of Technology, which was admitting women as undergraduates for the first time 101 years after its founding, was certainly enticing.  
"The opportunity to break ground – to be the first – was a draw," she recalls.

NEW BOOK: Ultra High-Speed CMOS Circuits

The book covers the CMOS-based millimeter wave circuits and devices and presents methods and design techniques to use CMOS technology for circuits operating beyond 100 GHz. Coverage includes a detailed description of both active and passive devices, including modeling techniques and performance optimization. Various mm-wave circuit blocks are discussed, emphasizing their design distinctions from low-frequency design methodologies.

Stevens Names Nariman Farvardin Seventh President

Hoboken, NJ – Stevens Institute of Technology announced today that its seventh president will be Dr. Nariman Farvardin, the Provost at the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Farvardin will take office July 1, 2011.

Ranking looks at Excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Education (STEM) for Women and Minorities
 
Hoboken, NJ – Stevens Institute of Technology has been ranked among the top 20 schools in the nation for women and minorities pursuing degrees in the STEM fields. The study, dubbed “Best Colleges for Women and Minorities in STEM,” was conducted by Forbes.
 
This ranking is intended to help students and parents determine the best university to pursue degrees in STEM education.
Dr. Ali Mostashari Co-Editor of New Book: Socio-Technical Networks: Science and Engineering Design

Available December 8, 2010, this is the First Book of its Kind on Sociotechnical Networks

Hoboken, NJ – Dr. Ali Mostashari, Director of the Infrastructure Systems Program and the Director of Center for Complex Adaptive Sociotechnological Systems (COMPASS) at Stevens Institute of Technology, is a co-editor on a new book that will be released in December.

The first book of its kind on sociotechnical networks, Socio-Technical Networks: Science and Engineering Design, will be released on December 8, 2010.
