About Us

Stevens is committed to exploring this radical rethinking of systems engineering through multiple perspectives of systems thinking and architecting, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cyber-security of cognition-centric systems, cognition-centric software, multi-agent systems, knowledge management in complex adaptive systems, cognitive- and software- defined radio, sensor technologies, as well as data and physical network perspectives.

Cognition-centric enterprise systems is an emerging interdisciplinary field grounded in cognitive science, enterprise governance, organizational learning and computer science. The goal is to architect organizations that accrue knowledge over time, are capable in proactively recognizing and responding to change in their environments.  Research areas such as cognitive systems, cognitive architectures, learning organizations, data mining and MIS, social network analysis, organizational behavior, decision-making, business process management, cognitive and organizational psychology, enterprise architecture, systems thinking and complex systems among others provide insights into this interdisciplinary research area.
